I think I'm going to go this route this year.  Has anyone tried it yet?  How do payments work?  I don't think providers "accept" this form of insurance.  I think you pay a cash rate and then they pay out based on your agreement.  Is that correct?  Does anyone have any experience w/ any of these.  I'm looking at ones on ehealthinsurance.com under obamacare alternatives.

As far as I've gotten we just know where to send the check every month and it is less than 1/3rd of obamacare.  The goal is never to use it so not sure what happens if needed.

Better than nothing. I’m lucky and get it through my wife.
I screwed up with an HSA when we had very young kids (sick all the time).
Between that, not working, and daycare, it almost broke me.
Knock on wood.
Correction, “it did break me.”

I "get" through my wife too.  But her coverage sucks.  She's small company like us.....

If you actually read up on what qualifies to be paid for by your HSA ..  there are few policies that the gov't allows for this anymore.   Most people still pay out of it unknowingly.  All is acceptable unless audited then you find out how much penalty they will enforce.  I wish my accountant left me in the dark.
