What are the pluses and minuses of using a smart phone for appraisal inspections and comps...other than taking comps is a dangerous and unlawful task!

I find it more convenient than using a stone tablet and chisel.

Good, but I was concerned about more modern technology!

My experience has been fair but not great...that is compared to a real camera...

I carry a both but I was under the impression that smart phones and Ipads were the trend....

The phone is handy for final inspections...etc.

Cameras give you better quality photos, wide angles and distance. The only time I used my phone is when I forget my camera.  They suck in comparison.  Hog up my phone's memory as well.

Phone 100% of the time. Tip for iPhone users. While phone is locked swipe left and it activates your camera without having to unlock and find app.

also if it's raining, I don't want my iphone to get wet and I would drop it all of the time!  I use a camera which is water proof and drop proof.
