I'm curious if any of you who have subscribed to A La Mode's X-site and are part of the Mercury Network have found much success with being offered assignments through them.

I get a fair amount of emails from other sources asking to sign up.
FHAAppraiserList and FHA Appraiser Finder to name a couple.

Anyone have any luck with these or other solicitations? Are they all BS?

Know of any "legitimate" services that are fairly worthwhile?

I managed to piss-off a mortgage broker from whom I'd been getting some work, and I have a feeling I've ended up on their "do not use" list. Haven't heard from them after doing a report and not hitting the number they "needed".  I wonder if any appraiser has ever tried to sue a lender after being blacklisted for not hitting numbers. That would be an interesting case.

Needless to say, I have to find some new clients.

About the only thing being on the Mercury network will get you is a sh*t ton of spam e-mails from other appraiser listing services who make their marketing list from whoever is listed on Mercury.

At least that has been my experience.

I don't think any advertising will amount to jack-squat anymore...

Unfortunately, I have to agree with everything said here. I say "unfortunately," because they truly do have the best appraisal software, in my opinion. They just get everything else wrong.
